For those of you who do not know about the UFC, I'll explain a bit here. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is an American mixed martial arts (MMA) promotions company that hosts many top-ranking fighters in the world and produces a variety of events around the world. UFC has weight-seven divisions and enforce the Unified Rules Mixed Martial Arts. UFC inspired by vale tudo tournament in Brazil. The UFC held the first race in Denver, Colorado in 1993.
Little bit update news:
UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar salvaged a draw against challenger Gray Maynard to retain the 155-pound title in the main event of “UFC 125: Resolution” on Saturday night in Las Vegas.
Maynard nearly stopped Edgar in the opening round as he sent the champ scrambling with a barrage of punches, but the early outburst proved costly for Maynard as a recharged Edgar stormed back in the later rounds with crisp striking a takedown defense to earn the rare split draw with 48-46, 46-48, and 47-47 scores.
Though most expected the fight to go the distance, the surprising back-and-forth battle ended with no clear winner and an immediate rematch seems likely, as Edgar looks to avenge his lone loss to Maynard again before WEC champ Anthony Pettis challenges the winner.
Brian Stann derailed rising middleweight Chris Leben in the UFC 125 co-headliner, dropping “The Crippler” twice before earning the opening-round knockout.
